Every tutorial and coaching retreat is built and delivered by coaches who
have spent years in the water with surfers at every level.
With 5 years of surfing and coaching experience across the Canary Islands, Portugal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Norway, and South Africa, Jack is the primary force behind every Solid Surf Academy tutorial. He spent 1.5 years coaching full-time in Fuerteventura and has run surf retreats through Surfbreak Club for 2.5 years. He works mainly with L1–L3 surfers who travel a few weeks per year and need a clear structure to improve technique, build consistency, and actually progress in real surf conditions.

With nearly two decades of surfing experience, including competing on the QS circuit, Luke Du Toit is a core coach within the Solid Surf Coach Retreats in the Mentawais. He brings high-level performance insight into every session, working with surfers looking to break through plateaus and refine their technique. Trained under South African big wave surfer Jason Ribbink, Luke focuses on technical progression, surf strategy, and confidence building for L3 to advanced surfers. His structured, direct coaching style is built around real improvement in real conditions.
