How To Carry Surfboard
Carrying your surfboard to the water can be tricky, but it doesn’t have to be.
Here are a few tips to help you do it safely and confidently:
Step 1: Approach with caution.
Bend your knees slightly and place one hand on each rail near the middle of the board. Try to balance it by feeling. Don’t want to take a tumble before you even hit the waves!
Step 2: Hold close to your body.
This will help you maintain balance and stability. No one wants to drop their surfboard, especially on sand.
Step 3: Carry sideways, never in front of you.
This is a safety hazard and could result in you getting knocked over by a wave. Plus, it’s just more awkward to carry a surfboard in front of you.
Step 4: Use a leash or trolley if needed.
If you’re carrying a longboard, you can use a surfboard trolley to make it easier to transport. Or, if you’re feeling extra pro, you can use a leash to secure your board to your body.
Step 5: Be aware of your surroundings.
Watch out for other people and obstacles as you walk to the water. Don’t want to run into anyone or trip over anything.
Step 6: Lower carefully.
When you reach the water’s edge, carefully lower the board with the nose towards the water and next to you. Ensure it remains fin-side up to prevent damage. Attach your leash and enter the water.
By following these tips, you can safely and confidently carry your surfboard to the water and get ready to catch some waves!
