Surf Academy November 20, 2024

here are 5 main types of surf wax, each designed for specific water temperatures:
1. Tropical Wax: For warm water conditions above 75°F (24°C)
2. Warm Water Wax: For water temperatures around 65-75°F (18-24°C)
3. Cool Water Wax: For cooler water temperatures, usually found between 58-68°F (14-20°C)
4. Cold Water Wax: For frigid water temperatures, typically below 58°F (14°C)
5. Basecoat Wax: An initial layer that enhances the adherence and durability of your surf wax job

Basecoat wax is essential for a long-lasting wax job. It provides a solid foundation for the topcoat wax to adhere to, creates a smooth and even surface, and prevents the topcoat wax from easily rubbing off.

By using the right surf wax and applying it correctly, you can ensure that you have the grip and traction you need to perform your best on the waves.
